“Windows Live Messenger – formerly MSN Messenger – is set to shut down on March 15, 2013. Microsoft is replacing it with Skype and migrating Windows Live IDs (now known as Microsoft accounts) to Skype.”
I’m not big on chatting or messaging. I chat with people on Facebook, I know, when I need to talk with family and friends I can’t get in touch with otherwise. I will set up my Skype with Microsoft if its easy, but not using it unless someone or organization I associate with uses it to communicate with me.
My interest in computers started with Microsoft in 1995 when I bought my first computer at age 35. I excited to learn how to run a computer. I found surfing the net boring, so I started focusing on updates, upgrades, and bug fixes, I installed ram memory when my computer became low on resources. Before then I never took computers classes in high school. My first computer class was an introductory to computers my freshman year of college in early 80’s when I was in my mid 20’s. I didn’t realizes then it was computer class. I found this new experience challenging, but fairly easy to grasp, and fun.
It would be 14 years later in 2004 I went back to college. I took another Introduction to Computer. The class was nothing like what I took in the 80’s. I decide then to change my major from Business to Computers. eight years later I’m graduating with Computer Technology degree.
March 2012 I got my first Apple product and can’t turn back to Microsoft. My brain keeps wanting more and more of Apple, less of Microsoft and Android after eight years. I’m presently fascinated with learning all the new technology in the Geek world and developing Mobile WordPress blog and website. I’m all over the place having fun experimenting with WordPress platform.
Look to How to Geek for more information on Microsoft shutting down Microsoft Accounts replacing it with Skype. I’m looking forward to seeing how Skype work on my iPad. How to Geek reports that Skype for Linux and Skype for Android are not as polished and have been rather buggy. Buggy Microsoft is how I got started. I’m looking forward to experimenting with the new Skype and my iPad to see where it takes me.
